Well, in the next few days, more precisely next Friday, Carnival will begin here in Brazil and this week ends with some good news for the health of some of my relatives. As I have already explained in previous jornals and some friends of mine are aware of the situation, some of my relatives, more precisely my brother and one of my nieces, have serious health problems and were hospitalized for most of January.Fortunately, over the last seven days, they have recovered and are now back to home. My niece has been back home for the last week and my brother was discharged today after a fourteen-day hospital stay.Naturally, although they are back home and their situation is stabilized, they continue to be under specific medication.

We'll see what happens in the next few days ^^

As usual at the beginning of the year, the south of Brazil is susceptible to extra tropical cyclones and that was exactly what happened last Tuesday night.

The storm was brutal and devastated several locations in Rio Grade do Sul. The city where I live was no exception, although my house did not suffer much damage (just tree branches thrown against my roof and window) but, however, several other houses were not as lucky and several houses had their roofs ripped off and others, less fortunate, had entire trees uprooted and fallen on top of the houses or thrown into the middle of the streets. The entire city was chaotic and without electricity and drinking water for almost 36 hours. (I had to do an ant job carrying buckets of water to my house).

Electricity, water and internet services were gradually restored this morning.

Now it's time to count the damage and, as they say: "The show must go on"

Some of my friends are already familiar with the information I'm going to talk about here. More precisely it would be about the health of my youngest niece who I mentioned in previous jornals.

When I explained that she was admitted to an ICU and underwent surgery, the problem was bigger than her mother, my sister, could assume... The girl was diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of cancer and needless to say that this fell to him with the impact of a nuclear detonation. Her eldest son was a victim of cancer and died very young at the age of 22.

Fortunately, the disease was diagnosed in time and treatment was started almost immediately.

So, my niece was admitted to a hospital specializing in the treatment of childhood cancer for 47 days and began chemotherapy treatment. (I won't go into details here because as I had family members who had cancer and went through this treatment, it goes without saying that it devastates the patient while fighting the cancer).

My niece has already undergone five chemotherapy sessions and she reacted well: the lymphoma nodules have regressed and the outlook is good. Thank God, she was released by the hospital to return home. My sister was practically living in the hospital as the child needed the company of one of the family members twenty-four hours a day. A completely exhausting routine.

I visited them and fortunately the girl is fine despite being weakened due to the effects of chemotherapy and unfortunately due to her current condition, activities such as going to the mall and looking at Christmas decorations (I had promised her that) are temporarily suspended .

As things happen, I will try to put information here in my jornal.
